Hello, I’m Tania Metalli, an artist and designer based in London.
I have what I like to call a “creative multi-personality”.
Apart from taking photographs and posting them on this blog, I draw and paint stylish alien Creatures, paint abstracts, design websites, and I’m presently studying towards a Psychology degree.
About this blog
During the years the blog has changed a lot, mirroring what was going on in my creative life.
I started blogging in 2006, within a closed community website. I moved to blogger in 2009, where I posted mostly about my art. In 2011 I moved the blog and all its content to my own domain (I just love that expression!).
Now I post mostly photographs and a few thoughts and ideas about art, creativity and life.
About my photography
At art school my main interest was photography, not painting. I saw myself as a photographer and that’s what I was pursuing as a profession. My idea was to become a fashion photographer.
I moved to Milan from Rome (where I’m from) to try that, but in the meantime the Creatures were taking more and more of my creative efforts, till they finally took over completely. And I left photography behind.
I got back into it just a couple of years ago thanks to my iphone and Hipstamatic. I started taking more and more photos and asking myself why did a ever stopped.
That got me started, but as much I like to take photos on the iphone, I wanted more, so I got myself a DSLR, a second hand Nikon D40 that now I use regularly.
So it was only natural to turn this site into a sort of photoblog
