I’m trying to finish two paintings I’ve started months ago, before the move, and also working on some little decorative canvasses – something that I can start and finish in matter of days, I need to do that sometimes, enjoy the feeling of starting and finish something.
Sometimes I find painting frustrating. Don’t get me wrong, I love painting, but the process to get a canvass finished can last for months (or years!), and in the meantime my mind has moved, ready to start another project.
I got better with the years and now I manage to finish most of what I start. But there’s still a few unfinished canvasses in my studio, that are going to stay like that.
These two I really like and I want to make sure to give them justice and finish them. I also want to experiment with different techniques, probably adding collage and textures, and that’s where the little decorative canvasses come to play.
I like to use little canvas boards to experiment with techniques before implementing them on bigger works. I’m continuing using the water drop shapes that I’ve started with the box and playing with decorative elements and patterns, and I might introduce them in the two big paintings. I’m also thinking of printing those patterns on textile and using those as collage elements…so many ideas, so little time!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend, whatever you do.
