New site/blog soft launch
Very soft launch.
I’m practically not going to tell anyone or do anything about it apart from writing the first post (this one) and put it out there.
I don’t feel ready for anything more at the moment, but I don’t want to keep postponing the thing.
I want to get it done, but without big fanfare.
Redesign of the art site
Now that I have decided to keep the blog design as it is (at least for now), I can actually concentrate on the next project, which is the redesign and launch of metallipreziosi.org.
I already have the main design and started working on the code a few weeks ago.
I’m thinking of having it up and running in a couple of weeks.
I’m going to work on it mainly late afternoons/evening because that’s the best time for me to work on webdesigns. My mind is fresher towards the evening and I get much more done.
New series of paintings
By working on the website in the evenings that means that I’ll have more time during the day, yay for that! So I’m going to use the time to paint more.
Maybe I’ll write in the morning and paint later. but I don’t want a strict schedule – it never works for me – I just want to make sure to get enough hours in the studio.
I’m thinking a series of small square paintings. More abstract elements and playing with colours and maybe keeping the creatures out all together. At least for now.
I will need to order more stretchers, but I can start getting the canvas primed and work on a few ideas on paper.
Explore and take photos
I always think of spending more time out of the house, but I rarely do it.
This week I want to try and do that, at least half a day, a few hours. Take the camera with me and go on a little excursion around London.
Not sure which area I should pick. I’m thinking, somewhere that I know already but where I haven’t been in a while.
Uh! Something like Barnsbury, my old beloved neighborhood. I often say that I miss it, now I have a good excuse to go explore it with fresh eyes.
The Spaceship soundtrack
The idea is to put together a small selection of spacey music to listen to when I’m in spaceship mode.
I’m going to listen to last.fm’s ambient radio for ideas and put together a playlist on Spotify.
Possible members: Boards of Canada, Eluvium, M83, but looking for more, with the hope to find new stuff that I don’t know about.
And that’s it
That’s enough to keep me busy and focused. Updates on the progress on the weekend.
