Weekly Wrap

The weekly wrap – #2

by tm · Sep 3, 2011

Where I talk about the week I just had, what I’ve been up to, interesting things I’ve done and seen. But also what I was supposed to do but haven’t done…naughty, disorganised me!

the weekly wrap #2

A short week

With monday being bank holiday and all.

I didn’t even bother with a to do list…wishlist, I just went free styling and enjoyed that very much.

Of course I didn’t end up doing much apart from painting, but that’s fine.

I still have the new version of my gallery site to finish (and I did give myself a DEADline for September…but I didn’t specify when in September. Smart move), but I have time for that…if I make time of course.

That’s going to be in next week wish list. I have to remember to make one.

Time to think (again)

It was also a good time to think and reconsider plans, paths, ways to achieve them. And in general I took the (nearly unanimous) decision to take it easier, not to stress about it, and just follow my own way.

In the last year or so I have been reading so much (too much) about other people’s journey and successes, there is so much information around the internet!

And that can be overwhelming.

I thought I should do more, I should do better, and nothing seamed to be enough. Till I felt like giving up.

But that’s not the solution.

In the end we are all different people, and what works for one might not work for another.

It definitely doesn’t work for me, I’m such an exotic specie (and I believe we all are). The only way that works for me is the one that I try and experiment and find on my own.

It’s also more fun.

I feel less pressure now. I’m giving myself more space to create, to experiment and to mess things up, both in art and life.

Now I’m off to enjoy the weekend. Lovely weather in London, feeling the end of summer feeling, perfect day to spend in the park, looking at the changing sky.

Hope you have a great one too.

The weekly wrap

It’s delicious!  And mostly fat free (but it might contain nuts)

What a frustrating morning!

It started with mouldy bread (yuck!) and continued with the internet, first working intermittently, then not working at all, then going on an hour long upgrade. So all my morning work was heavily delayed.

The good thing is that I finally bought Snow Leopard for my Mac, yay for me!

Yes I know, Apple has just released Lion, but I’m still running Tiger and I got to the point when I can’t upgrade anything or get new software. I always get these messages saying that I should upgrade Safari, blah blah blah, but I can’t with my old tiger! I keep uploading new software that doesn’t run on Tiger, so it’s time to say bye bye to the trusted tiger and move up feline. Eventually I’ll get to Lion.

I wonder what feline will they chose next? I mean they started with Tiger which is one of the most powerful and then they went Leopard? I don’t get it.

Anyway.

Great week all in all

I managed to do most thing on my wishlist and that always put me in a great/positive/high moood (typo, but I like it).

  • I finished some freelance work and got paid (nice!).
  • Resumed the design and coding of the new gallery website, and it should be ready in the next couple of weeks (and it looks fabulous!)
  • Got all ready to start new paintings and worked on ideas.
  • Soft (very soft) launched this site and got back into the habit of posting regularly.
  • Put together the Spaceship Soundtrack ( although I’m still working on that).
  • I even went swimming!
  • And got lots of ideas sorted. Stuff to do with selling or not selling of art and what I should do to earn money if I don’t want to sell my art (more of that on another post)

I didn’t go out on exploration & photo taking, yet. But I might go later today or during the weekend.  The weather has been grey and wet (a part for a few hours on wednesday and that’s when I went swimming), so it felt so nice to stay indoors, warm & dry.

More design work to do today, although I’m starting to feel the laziness of the long weekend coming through, I might cut the working day short.
