The third one is a Magdalene I think, just happened to be in the right corner at the right time, when I was on a hunt for images last year in Rome.

I’m not planning to go back until November, for the harvest of the olives, a little tradition in my family. In the meantime I revisit it by going through the archives.

Expect more Rome themed posts in the near future, the sign that I’m starting to miss it.

The long walk from Brixton to Sloane Square on a glorious Sunday in January, armed with camera and comfortable boots.

Stopping in Clapham Old Town for lunch, then off towards Battersea Park after a little pilgrimage to the place where I used to live the first time I came to London, many lifetimes ago.

Warming up with cappucino and pastries at the italian delicatessen on Lower Sloane Street, before taking the tube back home.

Wherever I go around London there’s some work in progress. It gets much more interesting and appealing when observed through the the lens of a camera.

I haven’t been out for a photo shoot in ages! I usually like winter, but I don’t know why this year it feels longer and harsher than ever.

In the meantime I am revisiting old photo sessions. These are more images from around Borough.

double shot in black and white

the Thames in Black and white

In my youth (at the times of film photography), I shot mostly in black and white, for both aesthetical and practical reasons. I loved that fact that I could develop and print my photos (being self-sufficient is a big deal!), and when given the choice, I tend to go monochromatic.

Now I’m back experimenting with black and white photography, both with the Nikon and the iPhone. I’m also turning my Instagram feed into a black and white gallery, to give it a more uniform look.

This is a little selection from a photo trip around Borough.

I have avoided the obvious views, I even avoided the market all together! But I’m planning to dedicate a photo-shoot just to that.

Stay tuned for more.
